摘　　要：藏区湖泊名称的英译对于推动文明的交流互鉴,推动科技创新,具有重要意义。本文叙述了藏区湖泊的类型、性质及特点,阐述了按湖水矿化度进行分类的科技标准及英译规范,探讨了英译中的一些难点,在坚持国家标准的前提下,提出了藏区湖泊名称英译的新思路和新原则。English translation of lake nomenclature in Tibetan-inhabited-areas is critical to the promotion of mutual exchanges, enrichment and learning between civilizations and the advancement of global technological innovations. In this paper, we discuss the type, nature and characteristics of Tibetan lakes and expound the scientific and technological standards of lake classification according to mineralization of lake water, the standards of English translation and its corresponding difficulties. We also suggest some new translation methods of lake nomenclature under the principles outlined by Chinese national norm.
