The“guanguan(关关)”in the classic of poetry was comprehened into several meanings. Some scholars considered that it described the beautiful sounds, some considered it as sounds given by male and female birds, some took it as a reduplication verb, which was a way to hunt birds, while some others thought it meant a couple or a pair. This article studied the lexical model combined the meaning of the poem, and hold the opinion that the former sayings are not correct or perfect, the“guanguan(关关)”is a replication word, which means sounds for attracting female birds displayed by the male birds.
