区域国别研究项目的语言类课程设置比较研究--以英美高校硕博士项目为例

摘　　要：语言能力是区域国别研究的重要基石,语言类课程则是语言能力培养的主要途径。本文调查分析了英美4所知名高校区域国别研究硕博士项目的语言要求和语言类课程设置,发现大部分项目设定入门语言要求,开设大量语言类课程,确保学生具备对象国语言能力和工具性语言能力。语言类课程涉及不同语言变体和体裁领域,体现出问题导向的精细化研究和多学科综合性研究趋势。我国区域国别研究项目应更加重视语言能力,增设语言类课程,丰富课程种类,以培养优秀的区域国别研究人才。Language competence,developed through language curricula,is an important cornerstone of area studies.Based on an investigation into the Master’s and PhD programs of area studies in four well-known British and American universities,this paper finds that most programs set the entry language requirements,and offer a large number of language courses to ensure students’competence in languages of target countries and instrumental languages.Language courses involve different language varieties and genres,and reflect the trend of concrete problem-oriented research and multidisciplinary comprehensive research.Programs of area studies in China should attach more importance to language competence,and increase the intensity and variety of language courses,so as to cultivate outstanding talents of area studies.
