摘　　要：对英语和汉语中有关空间形状、空间关系和空间区域的语言特征进行总结和归纳,认为空间词的多义性、图形和背景的空间分割、空间参照物和参照框架、空间图式化和空间隐喻是表达空间概念的普遍特征。空间图式化还具有理想化、抽象化和拓扑性特点。认知空间的语言表征形式最终由交际目的所决定。This paper summarizes the characteristics of spatial expressions as polysemous,referential,schematized,metaphorical with segmentation of figure and ground.The schematization is idealized,abstract and topological.The spatial expression is ultimately determined by the communicative purposes of the speaker.
