摘 要:Iconicity has been a complement and challenge to Saussure’s language arbitrariness.So far,scholars have done numer⁃ous researches in the fields of discourse analysis,syntactic explanation by resorting to iconicity.Though some scholars have set foot on English vocabulary teaching from the perspective of iconicity,their viewpoints still remain to be polished and refined.This the⁃sis will indicate some errors existing in vocabulary teaching and introduce iconicity theories,the inspiration of which becomes an alternative approach in vocabulary teaching.
