摘　　要：《历史人物》是英国学院派小说家马尔科姆·布雷德伯里的代表作品,聚会是这部小说的核心。首先,聚会体现了小说统一的情节结构,出现在小说的开头、高潮和结局,两次聚会前后遥相呼应。其次,聚会具有丰富的象征意蕴,象征着主人公的社会舞台、人物命运的转折点和历史人物存在的证据。最后,聚会点明了深刻的现实写照,拓展了作品的现实意义,深刻地反映了当时的社会世态与时代的精神特质。The History Man is a representative work of British academic novelist Malcolm Bradbury,and the party is the core of this novel.To start with,the party embodies the novel's unified plot structure.It appears at the beginning,climax,and ending of the novel.In addition,the party has rich symbolic meaning,symbolizing the protagonist's social stage,the turning point of the character's fate and the evidence of the existence of historical characters.Last but not least,the party spots a profound portrayal of reality,expands the realistic meaning of the work,and profoundly reflects the social state of the time and the spiritual characteristics of the times.
