当小说遇到档案——关于郑念形象的文史互证

摘　　要：华人女作家郑念(Nien Cheng,1915-2009)的人生经历颇具传奇色彩。她在“文革”期间所受的迫害及平反经历通过其自传体小说《上海生死劫》而广为人知。该小说的书写及传阅不仅使她成功跻身于海外华文文坛,成为伤痕文学、“文革”写作的代表作家,同时也塑造了其几无瑕疵的一代名媛形象。业已解密的英国外交档案则披露了数件与郑念相关的文件,展现了20世纪60年代初郑念在上海生活及社交活动的几个片段:其一是所谓的“郑念情报系统”,英方对其真实身份的怀疑;其二是郑念提交给英方的一份“中国观察报告”,这与其作为一名外企总经理助理的身份不符。笔者以文史互证的方法将这几件外交档案与《上海生死劫》中的相关叙述加以对照,发现了一些令人疑窦丛生的情节,至少是对郑念现有形象的某种颠覆。Nien Cheng(1915-2009)is a famous female overseas Chinese novelist,her legendary life experience and miserable sufferings during the Cultural Revolution has been known to the World by her autobiography novel——Life and Death in Shanghai.As a well-known writer and a public figure,so far her images is pure and positive.Several pieces of documents about Mrs.Nien Cheng have been declassified from the British FCO achives,these documents showed her activities early in 1960s and can be reflected with her autobiography novel.As a result of the analysis of the documents,Nien Cheng’s activities in 1960s was mysterious and her image will be tarnished accordingly.
