摘　　要：2005年诺贝尔文学奖的得主哈罗德·品特是英国当代最有影响力的剧作家之一。他独特的风格被称作"品特式的",并被收入《牛津英语词典》。大多数评论家认为《归家》是品特最重要的一部代表作。本文将通过分析作品中露丝在父权制家庭的身份困境以及自我女性身份的确立,阐述《归家》中露丝的身份问题。最终得出结论,通过《归家》这出戏剧,品特表达了战后英国女性对自己身份不懈的追求。Harold Pinter,the winner of Noble Prize for literature in 2005,was one of the most influential modern British dramatists.His distinct style is specified as“pinteresque”,which has been incorporated into The Oxford English Dictionary.The Homecoming was regarded by many critics as Pinter's most important work.By analyzing Ruth's identity dilemma and the realization of self-identity,the paper attempts to expatiate Ruth's identity in The Homecoming.Then it comes to a conclusion that from this play Pinter conveys that female's pursuit of self-identity is endless in postwar Britain.
