Exploring the Future of Sports Research:Advocating Social Justice

摘  要:尽管在确定和解决不同的学习需求方面已经有了一些进步,但社会公正教育并不是当前美国初任教师或K-12学生标准的重要组成部分。纵观我们以标准为基础的历史,社会公正更多的是一门隐藏的课程。要在2029年前实现5000万人的目标,必须承认体育是一个社会正义问题。如果不考虑渗透和构建体育教育的历史、政治和社会背景,以及未来教师和学生的社会身份和生活经历,这一目标不太可能持续下去。虽然有人对以标准为基础的教学运动表示关注,但在一个崇尚以标准为基础的教育的国家,推动任何教育改革的第一步都是将其正式纳入指导我们学科的国家标准。哲学的转变可能是社会正义教育发生变化的必要条件,目的是增加所有学生的学习机会。创造这一变化的一个向前的步骤是解决我们当前体育教师教育和K-12课程的研究和教学实践,以及国家和州一级的体育标准和政策。我们特别阐明了社会公正教育与四个关键的相互关联的研究领域之间的联系,这些研究领域涉及:(a)职业社会化;(b)课程、教学和评估;(c)技术;(d)专业发展。While there has been some progress in identifying and addressing different learning needs,social justice education is not an important part of current standards for beginning teachers or k-12 students in the United States.Throughout our standards-based history,social justice has been more of a hidden curriculum.To reach the 50 million target by 2029,sport must be recognized as a social justice issue.This goal is unlikely to continue without considering the historical,political,and social context that permeates and constructs physical education,as well as the social identities and life experiences of future teachers and students.While there is concern about the standards-based teaching movement,in a country that values standards-based education,the first step in any educational reform is to formally incorporate it into the national standards that guide our subjects.A philosophical shift may be necessary for social justice education to change in order to increase learning opportunities for all students.One step forward in creating this change is to address our current research and teaching practices in physical education teacher education and k-12 curriculum,as well as national and state physical education standards and policies.In particular,we have clarified the links between education for social justice and four key interrelated areas of research relating to(a)occupational socialization,(b)curriculum,teaching and assessment,(c)technology and(d)professional development.
