Objective:To investigate the changes of cortical spinal cord fasciculus Waller degeneration secondary to cerebral infarction by MRI.Methods:The patients who underwent MRI in radiology department of our hospital from January 2017 to March 2018 were collected, and divided into CST high signal group and CST signal group.Compared with the changes of cerebral foot width ratio and NIHSS score in MRI T1WI axial images at different time points between two group. Results:CST high signal group’s ratio of cerebral foot width to foot width in 6 months after onset and 12 months after onset was significantly lower than control group, and there was no significant difference in the NIHSS score between the two groups at admission and 1 month after onset(P>0.05);CST high signal group’s NIHSS score was significantly higher than control group at 6 months after onset and 12 months after onset(P<0.05).Conclusion:MRI can predict the prognosis of the patients by observing the changes of the cortical spinal cord fascicle Waller degeneration secondary to cerebral infarction. The higher the ratio of the width of the cerebral foot to the foot, the worse the recovery of brain function.
