摘　　要：英国当代小说家扎迪·史密斯于2005年创作的第三部长篇小说《论美》是对现代逐渐趋近僵化的审美模式的一次批判性书写。从对美的感知、判断与探寻三个阶段出发,本文首先运用直觉形成对美的认知,并促进审美共通感的实现, 其次,在审美过程中抛却以财富名利与过度阐释为代表的功利性,注重美所带来的愉悦感及其引发的自由感, 与此同时,在对美的探索过程中做到凝视,在与美的事物的相互交流中互相赋予对方美的属性,从而激发其对美的顿悟,最终实现良好的审美体验。The third novel On Beauty created by the British contemporary novelist Zadie Smith in 2005 is a critical writing about the tendency of rigidity in the model of aesthetic experience in the modern world.A good aesthetic experience can be achieved through three phases,aesthetic perception,aesthetic judgment and aesthetic exploration respectively.First,the perception of beauty can be formed by the intuition and the intuition can promote the realization of the common sense of beauty.Then,aesthetic judgment can be achieved through the abandonment of interests symbolized by the wealth,reputation and interpretation of art works and for the feeling of pleasure and freedom triggered by it.At the same time,beauty can be explored through staring,which can give the attribute of beauty mutually through the interaction between the starer and the object of beauty so as to provoke the epiphany of beauty.
