摘　　要：威廉·巴特勒·叶芝的《再度降临》一诗是其中期名作。一般认为它是一首"预言诗",预言了即将到来的新纪元以及此前发生的大破坏。然而,此诗的内容并非如标题所表示,是关于基督教的救主耶稣再度降临人世的传说本身,而是借题发挥,以象征手法写基于历史循环说的新旧文明交替之前的不祥征兆。本文尝试调动文本、泛文本、文本间、文本外的种种证据,加以分析考察,综合研判,以发掘作者本意为旨归,尝试解释该诗的字面意思及深层意义。William Butler Yeats’s"The Second Coming"is generally regarded as a"prophetic poem"predicting some forthcoming Armageddon before the coming of a new age.It is,however,not about the Christian prophecy of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ proper as indicated by its title,but about some symbolic omens heralding some new civilization according to Yeats’s philosophical theory of historical cycles.This paper attempts to explain and interpret the surface and deep-level meanings of the poem centered around the original authorial intention,making use of various relevant textual,hypertextual,intertextual and beyond-textual evidence with detailed analysis and careful examination.
