摘　　要：Radiation therapy(RT)has been used since the 1890s to treat cancer.RT can be used as a primary treatment or adjuvant to a combination of surgery,chemotherapy,targeted small molecules,or biologic drugs.The therapeutic use of local ionizing radiation is mainly based on the rational foundation provided by the“5R”of radiobiology(repair,repopulation,redistribution,reoxygenation and radiosensitivity)and the normal tissues proper architecture and reserve capacity(parallel and/or serial organ).
