摘　　要：概念隐喻理论和转喻理论可用于解析委婉语的认知机制。结合该二者理论分析35篇中美贸易报道中的委婉语,从源域到目标域的概念化映射总结出四种委婉表达贸易摩擦的概念隐喻类别,分别是体育竞技、交通工具、天气状况和机械;剖析有关贸易问题的5个例句中事物之间的替代关系论证概念转喻也是构成委婉语认知机制的基础,从而进一步揭示委婉语的本质及其认知理据。Conceptual Metaphor Theory and Metonymy Theory can be used to analyze the cognitive mechanism of euphemisms.Through the theoretical analysis of the two theories on the euphemistic expressions in 35 Sino-U.S.trade reports,and the conceptual mappings from source domain to target domain,four types of conceptual metaphors of euphemisms about trade frictions are summarized.They are respectively sports competition,transportation,weather conditions and machinery.The analysis of the substitution relation between subjects in five examples about trade issues verified that conceptual metonymy is also the foundation of cognitive mechanism of euphemism.Thus,the nature of euphemism and its cognitive rationale are further revealed.
