小说《了不起的盖茨比》中的汽车隐喻探析

摘　　要：作为代步工具,汽车在人们的日常生活中占据了重要的地位,反映在文学中,汽车则被作家们赋予了各种意义。小说《了不起的盖茨比》中的汽车隐喻财富与社会地位、社会总体道德和梦幻的破灭三个现象,对应着富有阶级的盛极一时、盛中隐忧以及盛极而衰这三个特征,在这三个现象和特征的背后,隐喻了这样一个资本主义社会的发展状态:许多富有阶级在获得了物质财富的巨大成功之后,便迷失了正确的前进方向。As a means of transport,the automobiles occupy an important position in the people's daily life.Reflected in the literature,the automobiles in the novel The Great Gatsby are a metaphor for three phenomena or social states or social psychology,namely wealth and social status,social morality in general and the disillusionment of dreams,which correspond to the three characteristics of the time of prosperity,the hidden worries in prosperity and the decline of prosperity.The various circumstances of an automobile reflect the myriad social conditions.
