Objective To investigate the impacts of ApoE gene polymorphism on lipid-lowering efficacy of oral atorvastatin in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Methods A total of 300 patients with acute ischemic stroke complicated with hyperlipidemia admitted to Shanghai Fengxian District Central Hospital from January to December 2016 were all treated with atorvastatin 20 mg for 6 weeks. The content changes of TG, TC and LDL-C in patients’ blood before and after treatment were compared, the ApoE genotypes of grouped patients were determined respectively, the influence of ApoE gene polymorphism on blood lipid levels and was analyzed. Results There was no statistically significant difference in blood lipid levels(TG, TC, LDL-C) between patients with genotype E3/3 and those with genotype E3/4 before treatment(P > 0.05). After treatment, there were statistically significant differences in blood lipid levels between the two groups(P < 0.05). Conclusion ApoE gene polymorphism impacts the lipid-lowering efficacy in patients with acute ischemic stroke complicated with hyperlipidemia.
