摘　　要：1.Introduction This article is a tribute to-and sadly-an“in memoriam”of Professor Arnold(Arny)L.Demain(born 26 April,1927,Brooklyn,New York,USA–deceased on 3 April 2020,Madison,New Jersey,USA).It aims to illustrate his worldwide impact over six decades in the field of industrial microbiology and biotechnology and to testify of his great ability to establish cordial personal human relationships and to create social networks with his students,former collaborators and also with the research and corporate biotech-sector worldwide.
