摘 要:汉语文化专有项与其相关概念共同存在于汉语读者的概念系统当中,通过一条联想链产生联系,人们不需要努力去分析该词项所构成的成分结构,而是以整体单位的形式从记忆中激活。但对英语读者来说,文化专有项并不是其规约性的语言单位,因而缺乏单位地位,这就需要人们参照相关的知识结构对相关认知事件进行整合并建立意象经验,从而激活脑中的相容图式。在认知语言学的框架下,从语义对比、意象对比和范畴对比三个方面探讨汉语文化专有项的英译问题和翻译策略,以期译者在翻译时能最大化地保护文化专有项及其所寄居的文化环境,更好地传播中国文化。Chinese cultural-specific items and their related concepts coexist in the conceptual system of Chinese readers. Through an association chain, people do not need take efforts to analyze the constituent structure of the term, but activate it from memory in the form of a whole unit. However, for English readers, cultural-specific items are not conventional linguistic units in English, and therefore lack the status of units. This requires English readers to integrate relevant cognitive events with reference to the relevant knowledge structures in their brains and establish imagery experience, so as to activate the compatible schema in the brains. Under the framework of cognitive linguistics, this paper explores the translation of Chinese cultural-specific items from three aspects: semantic comparison, imagery comparison and category comparison. Hopefully it would help translators maximize the protection of cultural-specific items and the cultural environment in which they reside and better disseminate Chinese culture.
