摘　　要：元历史罗曼司是继编史元小说之后的又一当代小说理论,它不仅点明了西方当代小说对文学史上罗曼司传统的承袭,还指出其在后现代创伤历史和元主义的基础上,扭转了历史罗曼司中“罗曼司”从属于“历史”的惯例,使这两种叙事模式和对历史的看法在文本中处于均衡的态势;更举起“渴望崇高”的大旗揭示出后现代社会对历史的经验真理及其不可知性这两个矛盾的方面既消极悲观又理想主义的认识,有力地挑战了哈琴对后现代文学在政治上“同谋批判”的论断。Metahistorical Romance is a contemporary theory of fiction after Historiographic Metafiction.It not only points out the interitance of the tradition of romance in literature history in these fictions,but also reveals the convention of subordinate romance to history in historical romance on the basis of postmodern traumatic history and metaism,so that the two narrative forms and historical views are in a balanced situation in the text;holding high the banner of“pursuing sublime”reveals the negative pessimism and idealism in the understanding of the empirical truth and unknowability of history by postmodern occidental society,which strongly challenges the complicitous critique of postmodern occidental literature in Hutcheon’s theory.
