摘 要:本文关注高等教育阶段英语教学目标与侧重这一问题,从学科专家和学生的视角出发,分析英语学习的多样化需求,并以此为依据探讨外语教学的有效课程建设问题。本文数据来自对某高校3403名本科生、489名研究生和118位学科专家进行的一项研究,通过调查问卷和深度访谈,对学生和学科专家的观点进行量化统计和质性分析。本文发现大学阶段的英语学习存在多样化需求,这些需求与学生的专业学习、语言技能、人文素养、个人发展有密切关系。本文提出,大学英语教学在课程设置方面需回应学生专业和个人发展的需要,科学配置多样化课程,积极开发校本特色课程,并参照专业人才培养的需要调整课程侧重。This paper focuses on the goal and emphasis of English Teaching in higher education.From the perspectives of university students and content specialists,this paper analyzes the diversified needs of English learning and discusses the effective classroom construction of foreign language teaching.It employed a mixed-methods research design.With questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews,it collected data from 3,403 undergraduates,489 master's students,and 118 con tent specialists from a university in the Double First Class University Plan of China to diagnose the English learning needs as perceived by students and implicated in content courses.Quantitative and qualitative analysis of the dataset shows a range of English learning needs.Those needs seem to have arisen from students'content course requirements,perceived importance of English skills,interest in English as a humanity subject,and intention to seek personal development.Based on the findings,we therefore argue that college English courses should respond to the personal and academic needs as related to English learning,supply an enriched English curriculum,explore university-specific English courses,and consider adjusting the teaching focus according to content course expectations.
