摘　　要：在整个19世纪,史地书籍是国人了解域外形势变动的重要参考。同文馆是在饱受争议的背景下晚清最早设立的外语学校,它的设立标志着清政府对域外世界认识的转变。为满足教学需要,总教习丁韪良组织同文馆师生编译了一批历史类书籍。与中国传统史学著述以"治道"为核心理念不同,编译的书籍摆脱了学术对政治的依附,历史书写与日益变动的世界紧密联系在一起。同文馆设立本身的标志性影响,以及同文馆印书处对图书的及时刊刻,促进了图书流布,加速了新知识的传播。Throughout the 19 th century, historical books are an important reference for Chinese people to understand the changes of the world. Tungwen College which was set up under the controversial background is the earliest foreign language school in the late Qing Dynasty. Its establishment marks the changes of the Qing government’s understanding of the foreign world. In order to meet the needs of teaching, the provost W.A.P. Martin organized the teachers and students to compile a number of historical books. Different from the Chinese traditional historical books which regarded"ideology"as the core idea, these books get rid of the academic dependence on politics, and the historical writing is closely related to the changing world. The influence of Tungwen College and its publication activity have promoted the circulation of western books and accelerated the dissemination of new knowledge.
