概念隐喻理论视阈下英语多义词的解释

摘　　要：作为语言中的普遍现象,一词多义是英语词汇习得的重要模块,而一词多义并不是任意产生的,很多情况下它有规律可循。隐喻的本质是人们通过认知和推理,把一个概念域向另一个概念域系统、对应地投射,它是词义扩展的重要途径之一,因此探究概念隐喻在一些英语多义词中的理据意义重大。文章以概念隐喻理论为基础,概述了概念隐喻的分类和英语词义延伸的隐喻认知理据,通过相关实例探讨概念隐喻理论的三种类型对一些多义词义项的解释。由此可见,概念隐喻在部分多义词的解析过程中起到了不可替代的作用,为这些多义词的认知方式和记忆提供了有效的语义关联。As a common phenomenon in languages,polysemy,an important module in English vocabulary acquisition,is created by rules in most cases instead of randomness.The essence of conceptual metaphor is the systematic and corresponding mapping from one conceptual domain to the other through people's cognition and reasoning,one of the important approaches of lexical meaning extension,thus it is meaningful to study the motivations of polysemous words.Based on the theory of conceptual metaphor,this paper overviews the categories of polysemous words and metaphor cognition motivations for lexical meaning extension.Then it explains the diversified semantic items of some polysemous words under the three types of conceptual metaphor theory by relative examples.The study shows that conceptual metaphor plays an essential role in the interpretation of some polysemous words,offering some effective semantic association for the cognitive style and memorization of these polysemous words.
