摘  要:在《看得见风景的房间》中,福斯特将“教育旅行”在20世纪初重新构建,将外部的旅行实践与人物的内心成长巧妙结合,从三个层面刻画了露西的成长之旅——旅行中的跨阶级交往促使露西对本阶级价值观进行反思,在教堂的审美体验帮助其进一步确立人文主义信仰,而在自然中的探索则引导她回归真我。小说以意大利为英国的参照,记录了游客在旅行中暴露的英国社会的阶级冲突、宗教式微等问题。露西的个人经历展现出20世纪初英国民众面临的精神困境。福斯特认为解决困境的出路在于突破阶级、宗教壁垒,寻求与他人真诚的联结。主人公光明的结局正是福斯特人文主义思想最乐观的表达。In A Room with a View,Forster ingeniously reconstructs "the Grand Tour"in the context of the beginning of the 20 thcentury and combines external travel experience with the characters’ inner growth. Lucy’s growth is depicted from three perspectives:the cross-class communication prompts her to reflect on the middle-class value;the aesthetic experience in the church helps her to establish humanistic belief;and exploration in nature leads to the discovery of her true self. In the novel,Italy stands in juxtaposition with Britain,and British social problems such as class conflicts and religious decline are exposed during the travel. Lucy’s experience reflects the spiritual dilemma faced by the British people in the early 20 thcentury,and Forster believes that the solution lies in breaking through class and religious barriers, and seeking sincere connections with others. The protagonist’s bright ending is the most optimistic expression of Forster’s humanistic thought.
