摘  要:《儒林外史》"篇法仿《水浒传》",其开篇出场的周进、范进显然是从《水浒传》王进与史进师徒二人演化而来,此四人姓名皆有深意。王进与史进体现了"王道倾颓、庶人议史"的社会现实,周进与范进则暗喻八股取士的弊端早已深入"一粥一饭"的生活常态中。"四进"的命名分别表达了两书作者"乱自上作"与"儒自下毁"的儒学观,亦可从中透视两部作品反映的思想视野、师徒观念及文化内涵。Zhou Jin and Fan Jin, who appeared in the opening chapter of The Scholars, apparently evolved from Wang Jin and Shi Jin in Water Margin. The names of these four people have profound meanings. Wang Jin and Shi Jin embodied the social reality of "the king’s way is declining, and the common people discuss history". Zhou Jin and Fan Jin implied the shortcomings of eight-part essay examination has already penetrated into the normal life of "one porridge and one meal". The naming of "Si Jin" expresses the authors’ Confucianism of "chaos from upper class" and "confucianism destroys from lower class" by the authors, and we can see the ideological vision, mentorship, and cultural connotation reflected in the two works.
