摘　　要：斯图亚特·霍尔和保罗·吉罗伊是英国文化研究的思想集大成者,他们为伯明翰学派理论发展做出了卓越的贡献。"双重意识"表征政治是其思想中最重要的内核。本文以"双重意识"为主题,以他们独特的文化身份认知为底色,深入考察该理论研究缘起和流变,着力阐释"双重意识"蕴含的丰富内核,为思考当代英国马克思主义文艺理论提供话语空间,突显它对后殖民文学和文化理论的价值。Stuart Hall and Paul Gilroy made great contributions to the theoretical development of the Birmingham School.The representational politics of"double consciousness"is an important theme in their writings.Focusing on their cultural identity,this paper examines the origin and genealogy of the theory,probes into its rich connotations,and thereby invites greater critical attention to contemporary British Marxist theory of literature and art,and its relation to postcolonial literature and cultural theory.
