摘 要:相较于传统,今天的翻译活动无论是在形式、内容,还是在方法、目的或功能上均发生了翻天覆地的变化。翻译的可定义性及翻译究竟是科学问题还是哲学问题均属于翻译研究元理论的范畴,学界对翻译本质的认知经历了由语言内核到文化内核再到语言服务内核的认知转变。哲学视域下的翻译定义破除了语言工具论的藩篱,对附着于语言的翻译本质的认知予以了延伸,而本雅明的泛语言哲学观从语言角度更为深刻地揭示了“翻译”定义的哲学本质。只有将翻译置于更开放与发展的语境下,不断升华对“何为翻译”的认知,才能更好地把握翻译的本质,更清晰地明确译者的使命与任务。Compared with traditional translation activities,great changes have taken place not only in the form,content,but also in method,purpose and function of translation.Defining possibility for translation and its dialectical relationship between scientific perspective and philosophical perspective belong to the category of meta theory for translation studies.The essence of translation has undergone a cognitive transformation from the language core to the cultural core and then to the language service core.The definition of translation from the perspective of philosophy breaks down the barriers of language instrumentalism and extends the cognition of the nature of translation attached to language.Benjamin's general linguistic philosophy reveals the philosophical nature of the definition of“translation”from the perspective of language.Only by putting translation in a more open and developing context and constantly sublimating the cognition of“what is translation”,can we better grasp the essence of translation and clarify the translator's mission and task.
