Objective To evaluate the efficacy of microscopic individualized modified Hotz operation in the treatment of cicatricial entropion of upper eyelid. Methods This was a retrospective review. The clinical data of 35 eyes of 30 cases with cicatricial entropion of upper eyelid from Mar.2017 to Aug.2019 in First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University were analyzed. The microscopic modified Hotz operation and individualized combined with blepharoplasty and/or gray line incision slat filling, electrolytic trichiasis were performed. The major modified procedures were carried out by firstly stitching the subcutaneous tissue of the lower skin incision with the upper lid of the meibomian wedge resection incision, and then stitchings of the lower incision of the skin incision and the upper lip wedge resection incision of the meibomian and the upper incision of the skin were made referring to the traditional Hotz operation. The postoperative follow-up time was 6 to 35 months. Results All cases were cured at the end of the follow-up period, and the cure rate was 100%.The eyelid position was normal after the operation. The appearance was good and there was no recurrences. Conclusion The microscopic individualized modified Hotz operation in the treatment of cicatricial entropion is effective.
