摘　　要：The date was May 23,1951.The event was the peaceful liberation of Tibet.It happened when the Agreement of the Central People's Government and the Local Government of Tibet on Measures for the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet was signed in Beijing.The event was a turning point in the history of Tibet(in Southwest China),as it furthered both Chinese people's liberation and the country's unification.This year marks the 70th anniversary of Tibet's peaceful liberation.During the past seven decades,under CPC(Communist Party of China)'s leadership,the Tibetan people have made continuous efforts to promote Tibet's political,social,economic and cultural devclopment.AS a result,dramatic social and economic changes have taken place in the region.Tibetans have been lifted out of absolute poverty,and Tibet Autonomous Region has become more modern,open and tolerant.1951年5月23日,《中央人民政府粕西藏地方政府关于和平解放西藏办法的协议》在北京签订,宣告西藏和平解放。这是西藏历史上具有划时代意义的转折点,也是中国人民解放事业和祖国统一事业的一件大事。70年光辉岁月,70年沧桑巨变。今日之西藏,已是一个走向新生的西藏,一个摆脱了绝对贫困的西藏,一个不断实现跨越发展的西藏,一个更加现代、开放和包容的西藏。回首70年的光辉历程,西藏妇女事业取得的成就是历史性、全方位的。
