摘　　要：本文通过对王佐良先生生前与商务印书馆的学术交往和出版合作的简要回顾,缅怀前辈学者和学术出版人共同致力于奉献高水准中英文译作,辛勤耕耘优秀人文园地,以提高中国英语的教育水平和民族文化素质的崇高事业。并结合近年来对其早期著作的文献发掘整理,进一步探讨王佐良先生对“五四”以来的中国新文学、比较文学领域的杰出贡献,特别是他提出的中外文学之间“契合”的思想与实践。最后指出王佐良先生一贯身体力行所蕴涵的世纪愿景的前瞻性意义,在倡导跨文化交流与理解方面树立了典范。This paper recalls the scholarly cooperation and joint efforts between Professor Wang Zuoliang and the Commercial Press,which resulted in a series of high-quality academic publications in English and Chinese in the past decades.Their diligent work heightened China’s English education and enhanced the cultural quality of the nation.This paper also recounts Professor Wang’s outstanding contributions to the fields of“Chinese New Literature”developed after the May Fourth Movement and comparative literature studies.The paper lauds Professor Wang’s forward looking approach exemplified by his promotion of cross-cultural exchange and understanding.
