摘　　要：Although in the name of love,The Love Song is actually a middle-aged man's internal monologue of his courage and cowardice.This essay will analyze the stream of consciousness of Prufrock and the world in which he lives,the author's ruthless exposure to society's emptiness and ultimate concern for human development,and poetic techniques he utilizes including metaphor,repetition,and allusion,to express his reflection on spiritual confusion and desire for return to human nature.
