中国自编小学教科书之始考

摘　　要：关于“中国自编小学教科书之始”,由于论者所持标准及史料误载等原因,导致目前有上海三等学堂钟天纬编写白话教科书、南洋公学陈懋治等人编《蒙学课本》、南洋公学朱树人编《蒙学课本》、无锡三等学堂俞复等人编《蒙学读本》及陈荣衮编写《妇孺须知》等五种说法。通过对“小学”“教科书”两个概念的界定,并结合编写出版时间,对上述五种小学教材逐一进行考证、辨析,本文认为1897年南洋公学陈懋治等人编写的《蒙学课本》是中国最早的自编小学教科书。As for the earliest self-compiled primary school textbooks in China,there are many reasons,such as the standards held by the commentators and the mistakes in historical materials,which lead to the following five versions:the vernacular textbooks compiled by Zhong Tianwei of Shanghai Third Class School,Private Primary School Textbooks compiled by Chen Maozhi of Nanyang Public School,Private Primary School Textbooks compiled by Zhu Shuren of Nanyang Public School,Private Primary School Readers compiled by Yu Fu of Wuxi Third Class School and Instructions for Women and Children compiled by Chen Ronggun.By defining the two concepts of“primary school”and“textbook”,and combining with the compilation and publication time of the textbooks,this paper makes textual research and analysis on the five kinds of primary school textbooks that are considered to be the earliest self-compiled textbooks,and holds that Private Primary School Textbooks compiled by Chen Maozhi and others of Nanyang Public School in 1897 is the earliest series of self-compiled primary school textbooks in China.
