摘　　要：王北辰精通日语,一生服务于教育事业,后半生致力于历史地理研究,将文献搜集与野外考察紧密结合,学术研究与地方社会需要相联系,对历史时期毛乌素沙地、河西走廊、塔里木盆地南缘的环境变迁做出了精深的研究,与此同时在历史地图编绘、历史文化宣传与遗迹保护、历史地理专著翻译等方面也做出了重要的学术贡献。Mr. Wang Beichen is proficient in Japanese and has dedicated his life to the cause of education.He devoted the latter half of his life to the study of historical geography. He combines literature with field investigation and links academic research to local social needs. He made a profound study on the environmental changes of Mu Us Sandy Land, Hexi Corridor and South Margin of Tarim Basin in the historical period. At the same time, he has also made important academic contributions in the compilation of historical maps, historical and cultural publicity and relic protection, and the translation of historical geography monographs.
