摘 要:Infection of humans with hepatitis B virus(HBV)not only leads to hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer but also causes extrahepatic damage, such as diabetes, kidney disease, and arthritis. The impact of HBV infection on the hematopoietic system has also been under scrutiny. However, due to the lack of suitable animal models in vivo, the research on the effect of HBV infection on hematopoiesis is mostly found in scattered clinical reports and in in vitro reports. Some clinical observations have shown that some patients with HBV infection are accompanied by myelosuppression[1].In some cases,HBV infection may lead to aplastic anemia[2].Several hematopoietic cell lines have also been established in vitro to study the effect of HBV on hematopoiesis. It has been demonstrated that HBV infection can suppress hematopoiesis by blocking the maturational development of bone marrow progenitor cells[3,4].This inhibition is dependent on the ratio of the number of virions per mononuclear cell and can be blocked by antibodies to hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg)[5].However,it has also been reported that HBV infection does not cause hepatitis-associated aplastic anemia and can even lead to increased hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells[6].Therefore,the effect of HBV infection on the hematopoietic system is still unclear and controversial.
