摘  要:高级英语是英语专业高年级的核心、必修课程。基于国内该课程教学现状,本教学改革采用了“对分课堂”(PAD)教学模式,内容侧重其高阶性和挑战度,课堂组织采用教师精讲、学生小组讨论等形式。通过问卷、访谈的方式,课程组对改革后的教学效果进行了定性与定量分析,结果显示:PAD教学模式对提高学生学习兴趣卓有成效,对改善教学内容、调动课堂参与度、加大课后投入等方面效果显著,为一流本科课程建设提供借鉴,也为解决我国英语专业教学中的诸多共性问题、推进专业改革提供了实证。Advanced English,a compulsory course for senior English majors,is one of the core courses in the curriculum.Based on the research about the teaching and learning of this course,this study applies PAD class teaching method(Presentation-Assimilation-Discussion),arranging teaching contents aiming at developing students'high-order thinking capacity,designing assignments requiring students'full efforts,and combining the teachers'lectures and students'discussion in class.The study does a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the results of the reform based upon the data collected in questionnaires and interviews.The founding shows that the PAD class contributes to the enhancement of students'interests in the course,the improvement of the teaching contents,and makes effective requirements from the students to engage fully in the study both in and after the class.This method offers reference to the construction of first-class undergraduate education,with a concrete example of how to solve the common problems in the teaching for English majors and to push the teaching reform further.
