摘　　要：本文讨论汉语性质形容词AA/ABAB式重叠(如"静静、冷静冷静")的句法和语义。研究发现,AA/ABAB重叠式可做谓语,不能直接做定语;多用于祈使句,在陈述句、疑问句中使用则受限;使用环境多限于主句,在关系从句等内嵌句中受限。有些情态助动词可允准其出现于上述受限的句法环境之中。本文认为,能够进行AA/ABAB式重叠的性质形容词实为具有[+可控性]特征的状态变化动词。我们提出,AA/ABAB式重叠在S-句法中进行,可作用于两类动词:动作动词和状态变化动词。当其作用于动作动词时,会加强施事义;而当其作用于状态变化动词时,常衍生出致使义。This paper investigates the syntax and semantics of AA/ABAB reduplicated adjectives,such as"jìngjing(静静)","lěngjìnglěngjìng(冷静冷静)".It is observed that,although the occurrences of the AA/ABAB reduplicated complex are highly restricted in the attributive position,or in the declaratives,the interrogatives,and the embedded clauses,they can be licensed by some modal verbs in these environments.The paper argues that the adjectives involved in this reduplication pattern are in fact change of state verbs bearing a[+controllable]feature that can license the AA/ABAB reduplication.We propose that AA/ABAB verbal reduplication occurs in S-syntax,applying to two type of verbs:the action verbs and the change of state verbs.It is claimed that AA/ABAB reduplication,when applied to the action verbs,would strengthen the notion of agentivity,and when applied to the change of state verbs,tends to derive the meaning of causativity.
