文化转向视角下的《习近平谈治国理政》核心术语英译特色解析  

Translation Characteristics of the Key Words in Xi Jinping:The Governance of China from the Perspective of Culture Turn Theory

摘　　要：翻译研究的文化转向为从非文本视角解析译文特色提供了重要依据。参照《中国关键词》等语料,从《习近平谈治国理政》(第二卷英文版)中筛选出73个核心术语的英译,借助FineReader工具对这些术语的英译及其以往官方英译进行对比分析,结果表明其中58个核心术语的英译较以往译文有显著差异。基于以往英译,卷二核心术语的英译以信息重组编辑为主,删除添加为辅,通过简化结构、降低语义色彩、改进措辞等策略使译文具有简洁、委婉、精准的特色。基于文化转向视角解析了形成卷二核心术语英译特色的社会语境、译者目的、目标语读者等非文本因素,以期对中国特色核心术语的翻译实践提供参考。Culture turn proposed in the translation studies functions as a theoretical reference to the analysis of translation characteristics from the non-textual perspective.Based on such corpus as Key Words to Understand China,English translations of 73 key words are selected from Xi Jinping:The Governance of China Ⅱ,with their previous translations collected as well.And FineReader Tool is employed to make parallel contrast and analysis of the two versions.The results reveal that the translations of 58 key words are noticeably different from their previous translations.Edition is highly frequently employed than addition and deletion as the translation strategies to translate these key words.Specific translation techniques,including simplifying expressions,reducing semantic degree,improving wording greatly contribute to the translation characteristics of conciseness,euphemism and precision.Also,the non-textual factors,such as the changing times,translators5 purposes,target readers,etc.are analyzed to account for the characteristics based on culture turn.This study endeavors to provide a practical reference for the translations of key words with Chinese characteristics.
