摘　　要：横断山脉地处青藏高原的东南缘,山高谷深,山川并列,地貌上是高原的延续,但地质构造古老而复杂。区内自然地理条件独特,生物区系组成复杂而多样,既包含有如大熊猫这样的古老物种,又是许多鸟类的现代分布中心。同时,现有的研究指出横断山系在严酷的冰期还成为了避难所,不少古老的植物得以保留于此。属于山茶科的茶树,正是幸运地躲避在横断山系才得以留存至今。The Hengduan Mountain(Brokeback)Range is located at the southeastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,with high mountains and deep valleys and parallel mountains and rivers.It is an extension of the plateau in landform,but the complex geological structure has gone through millions of years.The region has unique physical and geographical features and therefore a complex and diverse flora,including ancient animal species such as the giant panda and rare birds.At the same time,research indicates that the Hengduan Mountain Range also served as a refuge during the severe ice age,preserving many ancient plants.Tea trees of the Theaceae family managed to survive till today.
