“无锡快”船屋与近代上海外侨生活探究

摘　　要：“无锡快”是广受近代寓沪外侨青睐的船屋,为他们在江南一带旅行而用。该船型早年建于无锡管庄,源自江南官船,后来发展成为一种具有代表性的江南内河航船。19世纪中后期,为满足西人使用需求,此船型经过改装。即在保持中式传统座船船型、属具构件等特点的同时,在舱室空间划分、装饰元素与动力设备等方面也体现出鲜明的西式色彩,演变成“洋泾浜”式风格的船屋。“无锡快”船屋承载了近代上海外侨的江南旅行生活,建构了他们的中国记忆,具有特定的文化内涵。Known as a kind of popular houseboat among foreigners in modern Shanghai,Wusihkui was used for travelling between Shanghai and its neighboring cities in Jiangnan.Originated in Guanzhuang of Wuxi for the use of officers,it became a typical kind of vessel on inland rivers in Jiangnan.During the mid-and late 19th century,the boat was adapted for westerners.While maintaining the characteristics of a traditional Chinese boat,such as its shape and accessories,the re-invented houseboat had a distinctive western feature in its cabin arrangement,decorations and engine power,making it a“pidgin”houseboat.To the foreigners in Shanghai,Wusihkui then carried special cultural meanings and memories of their life in Jiangnan.
