摘　　要：扬美古镇是广西左江沿岸一个因水而兴的千年古镇,清末民初曾经繁盛一时,有"小南宁"之称,被誉为当地人的"饭堂"。扬美古镇周边农村地区,居住着以水稻种植为生的壮族农民。二十世纪五十年代以前,当地出产的粮食大多经由扬美古镇通过水路运销其他地区。生计上的依存性及产业发展上的互补性,构建了扬美古镇与其周边农村地区唇齿相依的经济联系,并使之融合为一衣带水的基层市场共同体。随着陆路交通条件的改善以及商品经济的发展,这个基层市场共同体在二十世纪五十年代以后发生深刻变革。由于历史记忆和生活方式的差异所形成的社会区隔,在一定程度上加速了其演变的进程。Yangmei Ancient Town is a thousand-year-old town prospered by water along the Zuojiang River in Guangxi.It flourished for a while at the end of the Qing Dynasty and at the be⁃ginning of the Republic of China,known as"Little Nanning"and it is known as the"dining hall"of the local people.The rural areas around Yangmei Ancient Town are inhabited by Zhuang farmers who live on rice cultivation.Before the 1950s,most of the grain produced locally was transported and sold to other areas by water through Yangmei Ancient Town.The dependence on livelihood and the complementarity of industrial development have built up a mutually dependent economic relation⁃ship between Yangmei Ancient Town and its surrounding rural areas and integrated them into a grass-roots market community with only a strip of water.With the improvement of land transporta⁃tion conditions and the development of the commodity economy,this grassroots market community has undergone profound changes after the 1950s.The social division formed by the differences in historical memory and lifestyle has accelerated its evolution to a certain extent.
