摘  要:我国大学生经历的英语教学时间超过十年,但英语的实践应用能力不如东南亚地区的大学生。本研究通过教室观察、户外活动观察和访谈的形式,考察了中国粤西地区和泰国合艾地区两所高校化工类专业的英语教学活性,并进行了对比分析,以探究教学方法对英语综合水平的影响。对比结果显示,泰国合艾地区的高校采用更为多元的英语教学方法,特别是化学工艺讲解配音、即兴问答和户外教学方法,在粤西地区非常少见或没有采用,粤西地区的高校更趋向于围绕课本的知识性和技能型教学,包括中英互译、语法和回答问题等。通过本研究,我们发现多元教学方法可能更有助于英语综合水平的提升,在现有条件下,粤西地区的高校老师可以通过师生讨论、小组讨论和信息互换的模式来丰富英语教学方法,提升大学生的英语实践应用水平。Considering all the college students in China have over ten-year experience in English studying,their capability in English communication is not satisfactory and not as well as Thai students.In this study,the effects of teaching strategies on the English application capability were studied.Observation and comparison of student activities in classroom and field were observed,as well as a panel of interview approach,were carried out in West Guangdong,China and Hatyai,Thailand.It turned out that universities in Hatyai provides multi-panels for college students to improve their English levels,including chemical protocol dubbing,impromptu Q&A and field practice.These methods were rarely used in West Guangdong whose teaching was rather focusing on the knowledge and techniques in books by the approaches of translation,grammar explanation and book-related Q&A.This study suggests that multi-panel-teaching may be more effective for students to improve their English levels.Based on the in-existence facilities in universities in West Guangdong,we would advise to rise teacher-student and/or student-student discussion and knowledge sharing in English class for Chinese students to improve their English practical capability.
