摘 要:20世纪50年代既是中国真正进入机器大生产的时代,同时也是关于"工业中国"的想象正式开启的时代。作为20世纪50年代工业文学的领军人物,草明及其工业文学作品既反映了当时的中国人对工业化的想象,又为这种想象提供了可供言说的话语。本文通过分析和解读草明的三部工业小说,考察工业是如何被文学化、审美化的。研究发现,草明主要通过两条路径来对工业进行审美化:一是工厂、高炉、钢铁等在工业小说中常见的物质要素被建构为具有沸腾感和力量感的文化意象;二是将人们对机器的好奇和崇拜转化为一种亲切感,并且将人与机器之间的关系建构为一种互动共振关系,由此取代了西方工人运动史中工人阶级与机器之间剑拔弩张的对立关系。这种对工业化的渴望与社会主义建设结合在一起,为人民群众理解与认同社会主义和共产主义提供了最便捷的通道。因此,对"工业中国"想象的考察,是理解中国独特的社会主义现代性的重要维度。The 1950 s was not only when China really entered the era of machine production,but also the starting point for the imagination about an"industrial China".As a leading figure in industrial literature in the 1950 s,Cao Ming and her industrial literature works both reflected the Chinese imagination of industrialization at the time and provided a context of discourse for this imagination.By analyzing and interpreting Cao Ming’s three novels on industry,this paper investigates how the industry is literalized and aesthetized.We argue that there are two paths for Cao Ming to aestheticize industry:one is that the common material elements in novels on industry,such as factories,blast furnaces,iron and steel,are constructed as cultural images evoking a boiling sense and power.The second is to transform people’s curiosity and worship of the machine into a sense of intimacy,and to construct an interactive resonance relationship between man and the machine the relationship,thus replacing the tense and antagonistic relationship between the working class and the machine in the history of the western labor movement.This desire for industrialization combined with socialist construction provides the most convenient channel for the masses to understand and identify with socialism and communism.Therefore,the investigation of the imagination of"industrial China"is an important dimension for the understanding of China’s unique socialist modernity.
