摘　　要：索尔·贝娄的作品《雨王汉德森》蕴含着丰富的神话因素。从原型批评视角来看,贝娄从文学经验中汲取灵感,借助神话原型塑造人物,将典型的意象与主人公自我探求的心路历程相联系,并在新的历史文化背景下诠释追寻母体。汉德森积极的精神追寻结果则蕴含着贝娄的浪漫主义理想和深切的人文关怀。Mythological factors abound in Henderson the Rain King,a masterpiece of Saul Bellow.From the perspective of archetypal criticism theory,inspired by literary experience,Bellow develops main characters on the basis of mythological archetypes,knits reflective images into the process of protagonist's quest for self-value,and presents his interpretation of the theme of quest against a new historical and cultural backdrop.The positive outcome of Henderson's mental pursuit embodies Bellow's Romantic ideas and humanistic solicitude.
