Hepatic fibrosis is a necessary stage for a variety of acute and chronic liver diseases in the development into liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma, which has become the research focus and hotspot in this field. The activation of hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)is a significant driving factor in the occurrence and development of hepatic fibrosis.Regulating the intervention stage before HSCs activation(preventing or inhibiting HSCs activation),the intermediate stage after HSCs activation(promoting HSCs phenotypic transformation and immune clearance)and the later stage of HSCs decline(promoting HSCs apoptosis and inducing HSCs aging)and other molecular biological processes can be used as one of the potential strategies for the treatment of liver fibrosis.Paying attention to the core position of HSCs in the occurrence and development of hepatic fibrosis can provide new ideas for the establishment of prevention, diagnosis and treatment intervention strategies of hepatic fibrosis.
