To investigate the morphological development of small intestine villi during the development of geese, the morphological observation of the small intestinal villi during the embryonic development of the goose and the adult was performed by scanning electron microscopy. The study found that during the goose embryo period, the small intestinal villi experienced a process from ridge-shaped mucosal folds to develop into“W-shaped”plate-shaped mucosa and finally became finger-like villi. After hatching, the shape of the small intestine villi changed from fingers to plate.Among them, after 18 days of goose embryo development(after the 60%stage of embryonic development),the mucosa on the surface of the small intestine changed from ridge-like mucosal folds to regular“W-shaped”plate-shaped mucosa. After 25 days of development(after the 83.3%stage of embryonic development),the plate-shaped mucosa became finger-like villi. The small intestine finger villi began to flatten after the goose embryo hatched for 8 days, and the small intestine finger villi of 17-day-old goose became plate-shaped villi, and the adult goose kept the shape of plate-shaped villi.
