A qualitative research upon the perspective on grammar study of Chinese English majors

摘　　要：本文通过半结构访谈考察英语专业学生的语法学习观,并基于质性研究方法构建其语法学习观模型。研究发现,学习者的语法学习观是一个环环相扣完整的系统,由语法特征、语法功能、学习方法和学习目标构成。该观点的形成与中学英语学习经历关系紧密;其完整性受到大学阶段学习目标变化的影响。因此,要构建完整的语法学习观,应依据学习目标选择恰当的理论语法来揭示语法特征、展现语法功能;同时,写作很有可能成为改革的突破口。This study develops a semi-structured interview upon Chinese English majors to observe their perspectives on grammar study.Based on a qualitative analysis,a theoretical model is constructed to interpret their perspective.The research reveals that learners’perspective upon grammar study is a complete system,consisting of four interconnected factors:grammar features,grammar functions,learning methods and learning target.The perspective is closely linked to the learning experience in middle schools.The completeness of the system is damaged in college because of the change in the learning targets.Therefore,to establish a complete perspective on grammar study,proper theoretical grammar should be selected according to learners’target,so as to offer appropriate understanding of the features and functions of grammar.In the meantime,writing probably will be suitable place for the experiments in grammar teaching.
