摘　　要：狄更斯是维多利亚时期最负盛名的作家,他的作品中有许多关于学校的描述。学校在其作品中不是作为一个场景存在,而是一个具体可感、富有表征意义的空间。此外,学校空间也是他塑造人物形象、表达思想情感的基石。狄更斯在小说中以学校为载体对维多利亚时期的教育制度进行了反思和批判。通过学校空间,我们也可以看出教育为维多利亚盛世提供了强大动力。Charles Dickens is the most famous writer in Victorian era,and there are many descriptions of schools in his works.A school is not regarded as a scene,but a space which is perceptible and representational.In addition,the school space is the cornerstone to shape characters and express emotion and used as a carrier to reflect upon and criticize the educational system in Victorian Age.From the school space,it can be seen that education has provided unremitting driving forces for the Victorian prosperity.
