Reduced sleep duration and changes in sleep quality are risk factors for obesity in young people. The effect of exercise intervene on improving sleep and physical activity in obese adolescents are focus for this study.28 obese adolescents (aged 13.7±0.72 years,BMI index 34.1±3.8kg m2) were trained with aerobic exercise and resistance training for 14 weeks, three times a week for 180 minutes.Complete overnight polysomnography (PSG) and wear accelerometer (SWA).After exercise training, the sleep duration and NREM sleep of obese adolescents and adolescents increased (P<0.05),REM sleep decreased (P<0.05),sleep efficiency and apnea-hypopnea index improved, but not significantly. At the same time, the level of physical activity increased significantly, the average number of steps per day and the average daily MET increased significantly (P < 0.05).This study confirms that 14-week exercise training can improve sleep and physical activity of obese adolescents.
