摘　　要：从统计文献和史料中最新发现,早在1912年,留日学人、时任北洋政府交通部司员的曾鲲化就开始在北京“交通传习所”中筹建“统计学堂”。他综合日本和欧美统计教育的长处,结合我国国情,开创了我国最早的统计学专业--交通统计,将我国统计学办学历史提早到民国初年,在世界统计教育史上也留下了中国学者的智慧和贡献。According to the latest findings in statistical documents and historical materials,as early as 1912,Zeng Kunhua,Secretary of the Ministry of Communications,who had studied in Japan,began to prepare to establish School of Statistics in the"Transportation Institute"in Beijing,and set up the major of traffic statistics.Based on the conditions in China,he integrated the advantages of statistical education in Japan,Europe and the United States and created the earliest major in statistics in China--traffic statistics.So the record of running a school of statistics in China can be traced to the early years of the Republic of China,which has never been mentioned in statistical literature in China.Chinese scholars also made contributions to the world statistical history.
