摘 要:安乐哲、罗思文的《论语》翻译是对孔子伦理思想颇具特色的哲学阐释。与“孔子是上下千万年语”(1)的经学传统观点相比,其把孔子的话语视为特定语境下“非本质主义”的“事件性”叙述,将儒家伦理诠释为生活哲学、行动哲学、实践哲学、过程哲学,抹平儒家伦理思想的抽象性和普遍性(2)。这种致思方式当与西方社会文化及哲学的发展,20世纪80年代以来兴起的反形而上学、“反理论”思潮,以及西方思想界对文化现代性危机的反思有密切关系。这代表一种不同于我国传统儒学的诠释倾向,对儒学现代化研究有重要的启示。Roger T. Ames and Henry Rosemont have made a rather enlightening philosophical interpretation of Confucian ethics through translating the Analects. In contrast with the long-standing aphorisms in the traditional Confucian view, they interprete Confucius’ discourse as a “non-essentialistic” and “eventful” narrative in specific contexts, taking Confucian ethics as philosophy of life, philosophy of action, philosophy of practice and philosophy of process, by which they eliminate the abstractness and universality of Confucian ethics in essence. This way of interpreting must be related to Western social culture and philosophy, to the anti-metaphysics and “anti-theory” ideological trend that has been in vogue since the 1980s, and to academic circles’ rethinking of the cultural modernity crisis. This interpretation, representing a different trend of the interpretation of classics from those of their Chinese counterparts in their studies, is rather inspiring for contemporary research on the modernization and globalization of Confucianism.
