Colon cancer is a common malignant tumor of the digestive tract, with the third highest morbidity in the world. Most of the deaths of patients with colon cancer are caused by tumor recurrence and metastasis and drug resistance, and these processes involve colon cancer stem cells(CCSCs). Epithelial mesenchymal transition(EMT) plays an important role in regulating embryonic development, tumorigenesis, infiltration and metastasis. Recent studies have found that there is an important correlation between EMT and CCSCs. The acquisition and maintenance of "stemness" of CCSCs is closely related to EMT. At the same time, CCSCs has EMT characteristics in different microenvironments, thus playing a very important role in the process of tumor generation, progression and metastasis. This article summarizes the research progress on the relationship between CCSCs and tumor cell EMT at home and abroad, and clarifies the relationship between CCSCs and EMT and its regulatory mechanism, in order to find a new way for its targeted therapy.
